auDA have delegated a number of direct registration .au domain names in advance of the .au launch date of 24 March 2022 to be used for marketing and spreading the news to the general public.

Also a number of registrars have also had the .au allocated early, after checking most do not work, and some like drop.au redirects to the com.au for now. I assume closer to launch date they are likely to work.
With the allocation process being a rather unique one, the complaints being sent to Registrars has continued to increase to number far greater than we had anticipated and we hear the same for auDA complaints and Internal Reviews. Definitely taking longer and longer for auDA to go through the current list and backlog of complaints and eligibility requests.
dntrade has a thread talking about an auDA ad campaign seen on billboards and I would expect to see a few more from auDA and other registrars as they all get ready for the launch date.
