The Domain Name Association (DNA) and the Internet Infrastructure Coalition (i2Coalition) announced they’re combining into North America’s largest internet infrastructure advocacy group.
i2Coalition is a group of technology firms and providers of global internet infrastructure who support the growth of the internet. DNA is a nonprofit business association that represents the global interests of the domain name industry.
The VPN Trust Initiative (VTI) was created by i2Coalition. VTI is a consortium of VPN business leaders working to help consumers improve digital safety by increasing trust, understanding, and minimizing the risk of VPN users.
The new combined organization will maintain the i2Coaliton management and organizational structure and operate under its name. The DNA mission will still be empowered by the i2Coalitions reach, especially with the addition of 2 DNA members to its board.
Christian Dawson, the i2Coalition co-founder stated:
“The merger of our organizations underpins the mission of both the DNA and the i2Coalition, combining our mutual dedication to Internet industry best practices and policies to empower continued growth. Combined, we represent over 100 organization members and their online business interests. Our commitment to the DNA’s mission is at the core of this merger, and the priorities of both organizations remain as strong as ever. We look forward to going forth with the expanded capabilities and amplified voice that this newly formed collaborative provides.”
