Fantastic Travel Site

As someone interested in travel and destination websites, I was really impressed to find “The Bali Bible” – the ultimate guide to Bali.

The only reason I found the site was because I was reading the Australian Financial Review a couple of weeks ago, and saw this article about the The Bali Bible founders raising $5 million for a new project called TRAVLR. So  that was what lead me to look what their original website was all about.

As the AFR article says:

Founded by husband and wife duo Simon and Lani te Hennepe, the business started out as a PDF document Ms te Hennepe created about Bali for her friends and family based on all their travels there.

After getting many requests for the guide, the pair started a Facebook page and in one night it had gone from two likes to more than 1000. The quick traction led Mr te Hennepe, who had already started a web development company, to turn it into a website.

I like It!

The Bali Bible is one of the best “directory travel sites” that I have seen, and it has the added “twist” of allowing users to create their own “lists” showcasing the very best of Bali food and drink, nightlife, getaways, and adventures.

I suppose one of the reasons I have not seen it previously is that I’ve never been to Bali! Got to change that.

So if you’re looking at how to develop your travel and destination domains (and make some money), then this site is a fantastic blueprint for success in my opinion.
