Not a week goes by when I don’t get approached to sell other people’s domains. However, these days, I rarely (if ever) take on any external projects. Two main reasons for this:
- Too busy selling my own domains!
- The time and effort put into marketing a domain generally outweighs the potential commission (based on .au average sales prices).
But then, along comes the exception to the rule! Something that makes my juices flow.
The Most Valuable Domain Name In Australia
Arguably, Insurance.com.au would have to be the most valuable domain name in our marketplace.
It has HUGE potential.
What makes this so exciting to me, is that not only is this the best domain name around, but the vendors are extremely motivated. I truly believe they have priced it to sell.
According to “TheDomains”, Insurance.com sold for $USD36.5 million back in 2010. This domain will sell at a fraction of that (6 figures).

The vendors are great to work with. It’s all about teamwork. After I published this article, a potential buyer even made them an offer directly – the vendors forwarded this to me. I’ve experienced this before – some people like to go behind your back (they must think that they will get it cheaper). It’s a bit short-sighted imo – no one will work harder than me to try and get a win / win.
