As someone who spends a lot of time on the computer, internet speed is really important to me.
And of course, a good download speed is a must if you also want to watch Ultra High Definition Netflix shows when you’re not working!
In our Townsville apartment, we’re lucky to have NBN installed in the building. Before we moved here, we also had NBN in our house in Aitkenvale (one of the few Townsville suburbs that had the initial trial rollout years ago). I know NBN cops a lot of criticism, but I certainly can’t complain.
Given my longevity, and the places I have lived in Australia, I have experienced connection speeds as low as 28kbps (the good old phone line). Then there was ADSL and ADSL+2. Plus a few years in between where we went with satellite.
So to get this sort of speed below from my WiFi router connected to the NBN box in our apartment in a regional city like Townsville makes me a very happy chappy. 🙂

Mine came in as 0.90 Mbps download, 0.37 Mbps upload although Netflix is on at the moment..
Surely you have the decimal point in the wrong spot!
I don’t think so Ned, it describes the connection as “very slow” LOL
Here’s my results, I think it’s pretty decent given that we’re located in the countryside (Huon Valley, Tasmania). In case the pic doesn’t show up: 20.10 Mbps download, 4.50 Mbps upload.
Internet connectivity is crucial for me. Thankfully, on the rare occasion that our internet goes down, I can simply use my mobile as a wireless hotspot.
Speed without Netflix on, 5.68 down 0.80 up
This is ADSL 2+ btw.
