On The Road

Caught up with Australia’s biggest domain investor / domainer yesterday down on the Gold Coast.

I’ve known Greg Brown for a number of years – but only at the end of the phone or by email! So it was great to meet him in person and have a chat about all things domaining. What Greg doesn’t know about domains could be written on a very small piece of paper!

For those that don’t recognise his name, he is probably better known as “Acheeva” on the drop auctions.

Greg very kindly picked me up from Nerang station and we spent about four hours together – plus had some very enjoyable sushi at lunchtime.

I’m looking forward to collaborating with Greg on some marketplace initiatives. Watch this space! đŸ˜‰

Nightlife

Last night I had a most enjoyable catch-up with a good mate of mine – Alan Gladman.

Alan is one of the nicest guys you could hope to meet – and what I love most about him is his very positive attitude to life and business.

We had dinner at the Pig ‘N’ Whistle in Fortitude Valley. This was recommended to me by Cam from Drop.com.au, and it is absolutely fantastic. The quality of the food was terrific, and the wine prices were very sensible. Having just completed a “dry January”, I broke the drought in impressive style. Alan is a very bad influence. đŸ˜‰

Whilst he lives in Melbourne, he’s currently in Brisbane on a work related project. But he’s also an active domain investor, and you’ll often see his name appearing on the WhoIs as “Gladnet”.

Here’s a piccie of him after his tenth glass of wine!

Today’s Events

Off to lunch soon to meet Don Rankin and Jeff Marr. Looking forward to that immensely – though it is a stinking hot day in Brisbane!

Until next time …

    @Ned

    Yes, good to finally meet

If I knew what I don’t know then I am sure then I am sure you could fill a library of books

In my early days an Auda representative said to me “you should know better Greg” to which I replied “please don’t confuse enthusiasm with knowledge”

It is good to see you being proactive by actively increasing the awareness of our interesting market niche

I’m a big fan of you both and am often jealous of the awesome names you acquire!
