Our Latest Project

We are currently working on a new idea for improving the sales of our domain names, by creating a ready-to-go site to sell along with a domain name as an all-in-one package.

While the value of any given domain name is as high as one is willing to pay for it, there is always the occasional scenario where a potential buyer simply doesn’t understand the value behind cyber real estate. These website packages provide a huge amount of extra value on top of an already great domain name – which should make sense to even the most frugal of buyers, once you consider that having a decent website developed can get very expensive, very quickly.

How Does It Work?

We set the site up as a template with some sample content, then can tweak as required to the buyer’s specifications – uploading their content and contact details. While we won’t completely redesign the site for them, we’re happy to be a bit flexible with things like layout, colour scheme and site structure, adding any additional pages as required. From there, the buyer can opt to hire us to take ongoing care of the site – looking after the hosting and any future updates. Otherwise we will simply show them how to modify it themselves and leave it in their hands!

One of the domains we have started with is SmallBusinessInsurance.com.au – please feel free to have a look and give us some feedback if you have any.

In particular, we’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts on this idea, as well as the design and technical aspects of the site itself. Any constructive feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I don’t know, will anyone care about the site? Will it complicate sales? If they don’t see the value of the domain, will they put much value on the site?

nice work luke, this system has worked for me and the reason why is a domain name is often viewed as intangable and adding something…….anything gives the potential buyer something to “grab” onto.

but time will tell so i look forward to an update maybe in a years time.

This is a fantastic idea and has worked successfully for me multiple times.

In case you’re not using WordPress Multi-site (WPMU) to manage your network, you should be 🙂

WPMU will enable all these mini-sites to share the same code base, plugins etc; but you can still customise each site individually. Then when it’s time to update something, a plugin for example, or you want to add an advertising banner across your network, this is all achieved from your main domain, a single source. You won’t need to log into each site one by one to update a plugin or your theme’s files. That would be a nightmare, a full-time job. As your network grows, managing it all from a single code base is a breeze.

Good luck! I think you’re on the right track with this project
