Enquiries seem to have picked up in recent times for two types of domains (in particular).
Firstly, EMD’s (exact match domains) seem to be in demand; and secondly, not a day goes past that I don’t receive at least one enquiry on a “3 Letter” domain.
Here are a few recently completed enduser sales:
- WreckersBrisbane.com.au – this was purchased by a Kiwi car parts company.
- NES.com.au – purchased by Dixon Advisory Group
- MWT.com.au – purchased by Mid West Transport
- KME.com.au – purchased by Krav Maga Evolution
- TheAppShop.com.au – purchased by THE APP SHOP PTY LTD
- Homeless.com.au – purchased by a motor group in Geelong for altruistic and charitable reasons (I’ll be doing a feature on this in the future)
Also working on a couple of really BIG sales at the moment. Fingers crossed! 🙂
Ned O’Meara – 8th August 2016
Congrats and thanks for sharing.
What prices did you achieve on each of these?
@Janeway – generally, I have a policy of not discussing or publishing prices publicly. This is out of respect for buyers. Always happy to have a chat privately.
Thanks for sharing, Neddy. Love hearing about what you’re currently selling. It’s how I can gauge if the market is temporarily slow or not 🙂
@Robert – I see you’ve turned to “drink” recently. 😉
You know me, I’ve always loved Bourbon. My favourite drink. Only in moderation though 🙂
Homeless.com.au may not have been the biggest sale (I don’t know), but I daresay it’s the domain in that list that matters most. Choosing the next owner may not make a domainer fabulously rich, but it’s a good position to be in to do some good.
Spot on Joseph. Whilst I got 4 figures for homeless.com.au, I was very generous on my pricing given what they intend to do with the domain. My belief is that they were very genuine.
Hi Ned,
Are these enquiries mainly from parked pages? Do you get many from Linkedin?
@Peter – yes, most sales originated from Fabulous parked pages – one from a WhoIs lookup.
Most people look at my LinkedIn profile (it’s contained in my email signature). That makes it easier to establish some credibility.
