Spotlight On An auDA Member

Don Rankin is a good friend of mine, and as it is his birthday today, I thought I’d give him a shout-out!

Happy Birthday Don. You don’t look a day over 65. 😀

Given his longevity in the domain industry (even before me!), he has seen so many changes in the .au space over many years. For example, when he started out, you couldn’t sell domains unless they went with the business. Unbelievable!

Don has mostly been a developer of domain names, and he has had some absolute crackers over the years. But he’s slowly winding back on his portfolio, and concentrating on other interests (he loves fishing).

Don has also been an auDA Demand Class member for many years, and has always been willing to help others with advice on anything to do with domain names. A nicer guy you could not hope to meet.

For those that may be interested in what Don has achieved, you may care to listen to this podcast interview he did with me a couple of years ago.

Well Ned thanks for the birthday post and must say it’s hard to believe where all the years have gone.

The kids are now adults and they’re the one’s telling me to stop growing old as I use to say that to them.

Thanks Steve and Jeff for the well wishes.

    Happy Birthday!

Interesting podcast especially on the holiday listing website. I think this is where those geos really work, I use quite a bit to make bookings (owned by a local realestate agent in the area).

Thanks Snoopy. Yes great use of holiday destination geo’s if it’s your full time job like realestate agents can offer and they will get better traction with a quality geo.
