This is what I call a token gesture. Some people would also call it rude.
I got an email on Saturday evening at 6.20pm from Daniel at auDA inviting me and some others to a zoom discussion on Monday (today) with the auDA CEO Rosemary Sinclair. It reads:
Dear Domain Investor,
Please join us for a chat with Rosemary Sinclair – auDA CEO. Rosemary will give a brief update on an array of topic from .au Direct to Membership.
Please feel free to invite other domain investors to our first catch up
Time: 12:30pm -1:00pm
Date: 20 December 2021
Don’t get me wrong
Many domain investors would love the opportunity to engage with the auDA CEO. We do have constructive suggestions and comments to make.
But please! It is the week leading up to Christmas, and many of us are away or unavailable. To give us less than two days notice (on a Saturday night) is not only rude, it disrespects us as part of the online ecosystem / community.
Every other online event auDA has had in recent times has been well publicized. Why not this one?

What a joke. You can imagine the auDA Luminati thinking “this will tick a box, and not allow them any time to unite and come up with any good questions or concerns, then we can tell the Dept Of Comms that we reached out to all those pesky domainers”.
Ignore.
auDA this is disgraceful.
The joke and truth is auDA will not let people speak on these calls nor do they allow most questions to be seen on the chatm asked or answered at all.
auDA can we actually speak and ask questions on this call today?
Is it just another CEO Rosemary Sinclair presentation and a few brief comments from Coo Bruce Tonkin?
A total scam pretending to consult for the record.
It happened before and auDA have not changed at all.

Is this the best you can do auDA? I’ll be on a plane. Thanks for the notice. Not.
Given that domain investors account for many tens of thousands of names in the .au namespace, which probably adds for up to around a million dollars of revenue for auDA, it is disgusting that auDA can only give half an hour of their time to one of the major industry supporters.
Looking at the new committees, once again the direct domain industry has been ignored, with auDA focusing it’s attention on the same types of people who no nothing about the industry. How many of the new committee members have direct relationships with each other and with members of the board. auDA is not interested in the community it is a mates club.
Time for a new auDA report and auDA doesn’t even rate an E for effort. More like a F for failure.
It seems the regulator is dishing out lip service. No real concern or care.
