Given that the auDA Annual General Meeting is to be held on the 28th November, I thought it may be helpful for members and other interested parties to have a look at two recent speeches made by the Chairman of auDA (Stuart Benjamin); and the recently appointed auDA CEO (Cameron Boardman).
These were given at the recent auIG (Australian Internet Governance Forum) which was held in Melbourne on 11 & 12 October 2016.
Stuart Benjamin speech starts at about the 6:00 minute mark, and runs for approximately nine minutes.
Cameron Boardman is at 16:15 mark – goes for ten minutes.
As I have written previously, I was very encouraged by the new CEO’s attitude and approach. In particular, it was his commitment to have better communication with stakeholders (including domain registrants) that gave me some renewed confidence.
I’d be interested in your thoughts.
Just a couple of slick talking heads lulling you into believing they care.
The charm before the storm.
@David – I’m a positive person; but my advanced years have also given me a healthy dose of cynicism. At this stage, I’m running with hope and positivity.
In my discussions with Cameron, he genuinely seems to want to put better processes in place – and communicate.
If proven wrong, then I will be really pissed (and will act accordingly). One bridge at a time.
I agree with you Ned, I’m prepared to give the new regime an opportunity to prove itself. However, communication and transparency with members must be improved.
