AUS $12.2 Million Acquisition of Australian Domain Name Registrar

Web.com, the domain name company, has just acquired Webcentral Group.

WebCentral focuses on the Australian market and has 330,000 customers with web hosting, digital marketing services, and domain names.

The company recently acquired another Australian domain company, Dreamscape Networks, last year.

“The WebCentral acquisition further complements Web’s continued commitment to providing market-leading web presence solutions to customers across the globe. Now more than ever, companies need reliable online solutions and partners that deliver results to support ever-evolving business needs. WebCentral is a natural fit for our family of leading web technology brands and a proven long-standing partner to its customers.”

Sharon Rowlands, CEO and president, Web.com Group.

WebCentral purchased Web.com for AUS $12.2 million and Dreamscape Networks for $73 million.

Netregistry, WME, and Melbourne IT are all brands of WebCentral.

EDIT: Web.com acquisition fell through and was instead acquired by 5GN shortly after.

    Really Snoopy?

    $12.2m / 330,000 customers = $36.97 per customer

I’d say that’s sold for scrap

The company’s share price went from more than $3.20 to $0.10 in just 2 years, shedding about 97% of its value in just 2 years.

    All in my opinion
