Daily Snippets – 23 February

Here is a round-up of some stuff that I hope you find interesting.

Uniregistry In Australia

Frank Schilling and Heather Pierre from Uniregistry have been on a lightning “meet and greet” visit to Australia. This follows the accreditation of Uniregistry as a fully fledged .au registrar.

Their roadshow has taken in 3 major centres – Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. They have been wining and dining many of Australia’s “finest” domain industry personalities. And they do it so well!

Last night it was our turn in Brisbane. We had a lovely dinner at the Pony Restaurant on Eagle Pier – couple of pictures below (forgive my demonic eyes!).

Frank and Heather are the most charming and generous hosts, and I’d really like to thank them. They’re on a Qantas flight to LA today (enroute to the Cayman Islands), and I wish them safe travels.

I’ll be doing a special article about Uniregistry and Domain Name Sales in the very near future. They certainly have some great portfolio management tools to make life a lot easier for domainers – though they have a few little teething things to sort out.

I wish them well.

What’s Happening On The Drops

Bit of a change in the hierarchy over the weekend. Domain Shield got some of its mojo back, and beat Netfleet to a number of the top domains. On Saturday for instance, they were successful in catching anm.com.au (bid on Netfleet was $577 plus / plus); courierquotes.com.au (bid on Netfleet was $275 ++); and beachhaven.com.au (bid on Netfleet was $233 ++).

Yesterday there were 21 domains bid for on Netfleet, and whilst Domain Shield didn’t catch the top three, they were successful in acquiring 7 of the 21 domains. They obviously had some happy clients!

Website Of The Day

For those that haven’t had a good look at the Uniregistry website previously, you should do so today.

Some of the tools that they offer domain professionals are simply first class.

Importantly, you have to understand how and why the Uniregistry platform and Domain Name Sales platforms were developed in the first place. They were purpose built for Frank Schilling and his tens of thousands of domains. He wanted a professional system where he could comprehensively manage and market his personal portfolio.

Now this tried and tested platform is available to all serious domain investors. And it costs nothing to join!

Have a look and see what you think.

If you have any comments on any of the above, I’d love to hear them.

Should you have any suggestions for future stories – or any “hot news”, please let me know.

Best wishes for your online success. 🙂
