Coming up in September is DOMAINfest Asia – this is going to be held in Hong Kong. I am so looking forward to attending and participating.
The conference is a combination of the forces of NamesCon (and their DOMAINfest brand) together with IoN.Asia. From their website:
Welcome to DOMAINfest @ IoN.asia
We are delighted to announce that the team at NamesCon is again collaborating with the amazing teams at Allegravita and DotAsia to take the DOMAINfest brand to Hong Kong to hold the second annual DOMAINfest event in Asia! The Chinese Marketplace is an area of activity and focus in 2015 and continues to be a source of strong growth and innovation. This made Hong Kong an attractive choice to hold the DOMAINfest Asia event, at the Cyberport Hong Kong, during the Internet of Names Conference.
The organizing teams are headed up by Jothan Frakes (NamesCon & DOMAINfest); Edmon Chung from DotAsia; and Simon Cousins from Allegravita.
Speakers
There are some amazingly talented people that are going to be participating and sharing their knowledge. I’ve met a number of them at NamesCon earlier this year, and I’m looking forward to renewing friendships and associations. There are also a number of domain identities that I haven’t met as yet, so that’s going to be a thrill for me.
Full list of speakers are here (more still being added).
Why Am I Going?
- Even though I am an “old dog”, I want to learn new tricks! Particularly when it comes to China. People who attended last year said it was just amazing.
- Networking; networking and networking.
- Many foreigners think that Australia is a “closed market” when it comes to acquiring our premium ccTLD domains. I will be explaining the legitimate ways overseas purchasers can participate in a growing, well regulated market place like Australia.
- Business happens at domain conferences!
