Reflections On A Sunday – 10 January 2016

LAX 2It’s technically Sunday in Australia, but it’s Saturday morning in Los Angeles.

And that’s where I’m writing this from. Arrived via Qantas from Brisbane at about 12.30am Sunday morning Australian time – which equates to 6.30am Saturday in California.

Reflections

So looking forward to Las Vegas later today. Never been there before, so I’m sure it’s going to be a real eye opener for me.

The buzz in the air about NamesCon is just amazing. Apparently there are close to 1200 people that have registered to attend. The “behind the scenes” organisation must be incredible.

They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, but in this instance I’m going to disagree. I reckon I’m going to learn so much over the next 4 to 5 days. And learn from some real masters as well. I touched on this in a previous post.

Reflection 2

The thing that I’m going to find the most interesting over the next week is the discussion re the new gTLD’s. As I’ve stated often, I’m not really a convert – I prefer to stick to the market I know. But once again, I’m always happy to listen.

Some of the extensions seem to be doing well in terms of “domainer resales”. Therefore I’m going to put my prejudices aside for a while and find out why!

I’ll probably also see if I can get a USA based domainer to write a guest blog article as to why they think gTLD’s are good to deal in. That should be interesting. đŸ™‚

Until next time …
