A string of direct .au domains have been recently acquired by end users via the Above.com domain marketplace assisted through their domain brokers including nominate.au a nice generic domain name.
Lots of potential uses and I am sure we will see soon enough what this domain will be used for.
The Above team have reported many sales of late even this close the Christmas which is when one would assume sales would slow right down.
